Diane grew up in San Diego before moving to Ventura County when she 12 years old. She has called Ventura her home since then. She was introduced to Spinning in 1997 and although she wasn’t instantly hooked, after about one month it became her favorite form of fitness. She started each work day with an hour Spin class and loved every minute of it. In 2011, she took a class where Alex was teaching and they have been together ever since. In January 2014, Alex encouraged Diane to quit her job and open her dream studio, and in February DNA Fitness was born. Getting Spin certified and teaching has brought so much joy and the most wonderful friendships into our lives. Diane is forever grateful to her husband Alex for allowing her to create “Our DNA Family”. DNA is made of awesome instructors and the very best Spinners in the 805!  Get Up, Get Out, Get In!

Alex started out playing sports at an early age. In High School he learned how to become a leader in sports, business and life. He found his way into the Aerospace Industry and has been at it for 39 years. In 2000 as a spinner at a local gym he got the bug and became Spinning Certified and started instructing right away. From Pt. Mugu Navy Base to Gold’s Gym where he met his future wife he has been able to hone his own style of spinning. In 2014 he sat his fiance Diane down and told her his idea of opening their own studio and DNA Fitness Spinning Studio was born. So with Spinning, Outrigger Paddling and running two businesses it is needless to say they are living the dream.

Myra Ingersol
Myra works full time in an administration position for a builder. Fitness is an outlet for Myra to relieve stress and improve her overall health. Her journey to becoming a teacher started in group fitness classes. Besides the overall health benefits, Myra fell in love with the community and fun. IMG_0521Kimm Perez
Born in Oxnard California, raised on Hollywood Beach and Silver Strand. In 2009, she moved to Simi Valley to start a new job with Trader Joes.
Kimm found her passion for Spinning in 2000 after losing over 50 lbs with Weight Watchers and needing a way to tone and drop her last 20 lbs. She met and became “Spinning buddies” with her new best friend Diane Laird, now owner of DNA. Their love for Spinning built the strong friendship that continues today.
Kimm was certified in February 2014 and joined DNA as one of their first instructors. She enjoys making each of her classes fun, up beat and challenging. She believes Spinning is so much more then indoor cycling but embraces passion, health and education. The energy generated from each person and the feeling of accomplishment for making someone else’s day, are two of Kimm’s favorite things about teaching Spinning classes.

JohnCook_bio1John Cook
John has had a lifelong enthusiasm for being active that includes a love of road and mountain biking, surfing and Spinning. He has a career that spans more than 30 years in industrial design that has led him to design Spinning bikes and other fitness equipment for Mad Dogg Athletics.  John became a member of the DNA family soon after the doors were opened and became an instructor a few months later. He loves how Spinning can provide a sense of connection and that a good ride can be everything from a transformative fitness journey to a stress release to simply a good time. Always looking for that perfect Spinning song, his playlists lean toward alternative and indie music (new and old) with occasional classics that work with the movements on the bike to challenge and inspire every rider.

Debbie Ayers
Debbie was born and raised in Denver, Colorado where she enjoyed an active life full of gymnastics, swimming, roller blading and mountain biking.  She obtained a BA from Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, majoring in English/Theatre.  She found her self moving to Burbank, California after meeting her fabulous husband, Dan.  Debbie and Dan have since raised two amazing boys, moved to Vancouver, Washington and then to Ventura where they have spent the last ten years.  During the years spent in Vancouver, Debbie discovered her love for group fitness and became a certified group fitness instructor which included one of her favorite actives – Spinning!   In 2008, after moving to Ventura, Debbie also became a certified personal trainer.  Her claim to fame during the past ten years is her Escape from Alcatraz swim across the San Francisco Bay – three times!  Recently, Debbie rediscovered her love for Spinning and is so excited to be teaching again and to be joining the DNA family!

Peter Kern
Peter began distance cycling since high school doing centuries and cycle touring. After college Peter sailed the seven seas as a merchant seaman. During this time he enjoyed exploring five continents, hitchhiking all of them, accompanied by a surfboard when possible. Back on land Peter became a high school teacher in Oxnard where he and his wife met and raised their five children at the Shores. He taught his own family the ‘joy of cycling’ sometimes having them ride fifteen miles on their bikes to get to school and back. He’s cycled nine times from San Francisco to Oxnard including one trip from Seattle to L.A. with his son, Nicholas. He was introduced to the world of spin three years ago and eventually made his way to the teaching platform with the encouragement of his wife and recruitment of Diane and Alex.
